Flames Reach Civilian Homes in Al-Ghab Plain and Consume Forests as Locals Rush to Assist

The fires continue to spread in the Al-Ghab Plain area, where the flames have reached the forests of the town of Shattha in the western Hama countryside, with increasing wind speeds making it more difficult to control.

Firefighting teams have intensified their efforts to protect civilians and prevent the flames from spreading to residential homes.

The fire has expanded in the mountain range from south to north, spreading in the forests west of Shattha and among the houses on the western outskirts of the town, despite the efforts made by firefighting teams.

The rugged terrain, high temperatures, and drought complicate the firefighting efforts.


Locals and the community are directly contributing to attempts to extinguish the fires using primitive methods, employing water, buckets, and hand tools to help limit the spread of the flames until the firefighting teams arrive.
