The Syrian Civil Defense teams, in cooperation with local firefighting units, forestry units, and residents, continue their efforts to extinguish forest fires in the countryside of Lattakia and Hama provinces, supported by helicopters from the Ministry of Defense.

The Minister of Emergency and Disaster Management, Raed Saleh, reported during a field tour in the Kessab area that the teams have managed to control fires in several villages in the countryside of Hama, while flames are still raging in scattered hotspots in rugged mountainous areas.

Saleh indicated in a special statement to "SANA" that the teams, supported by the residents, succeeded in halting the spread of flames in the villages of Ain al-Krum, Tahouna al-Halawa, and Abu Klifoun, while extinguishing operations continue in the area of the village of Anab towards the forests of Shathta with support from military helicopters.

In the countryside of Lattakia, the flames are spreading in the forests of Al-Nabain and Al-Shajara, while the teams are working to contain the fires in the forests of Kafarta and Barouma in the Mountain of the Kurds, despite the difficulties caused by the spread of war remnants in the area.

The minister emphasized the importance of the support provided by the residents and the local community, expressing his appreciation for their efforts in assisting the firefighting teams, stressing the use of advanced techniques and special materials for combating forest fires that have contributed to containing the situation in the countryside of Hama.

The teams face significant challenges due to weather factors and rugged terrain that hinder the arrival of equipment, in addition to the dangers of war remnants that threaten the safety of personnel working in the field.
