Finland calls for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza amid worsening famine

International concerns are growing that developments may lead to further deterioration of the humanitarian situation in the sector, coinciding with the announcement from Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's office that the security cabinet approved Netanyahu's proposal to take control of the city of Gaza.

Finnish Foreign Minister Elena Valttonen expressed her country's deep concern over the worsening famine in the Gaza Strip, emphasizing Helsinki's desire for an immediate ceasefire, along with the immediate release of detainees.

Valtonen stressed that the humanitarian situation in the sector is becoming more critical, necessitating urgent action to secure aid and protect civilians.
