A financial scandal rocks "the new city" .. and the regulatory body holds the threads of corruption.

In a new anti-corruption operation, the Administrative Control Authority managed to apprehend the head of an agency in one of the new cities, after being involved in receiving financial bribes estimated at around three million pounds from some contractors assigned to implement projects under his supervision, where he turned a blind eye to serious violations in accepting executed works. Immediately, the incident was referred to the Public Prosecutor, who issued an urgent decision to arrest the suspects and refer them to the competent prosecution for investigation. The Authority, in coordination with officials from the Ministry of Housing, also suspended the disbursement of any dues for the violating works, in addition to forming a committee to review all projects assigned to those companies to ensure the non-repetition of such violations in the future. This incident is part of a series of corruption cases uncovered by the Administrative Control Authority in recent months, where 18 officials from the national airline company were previously arrested for embezzling one million dollars of foreign currencies collected from passengers on the company's flights. The Authority also managed to apprehend several officials from the Social Solidarity Ministry in several governorates, after exploiting the privileges granted to people with special needs, and manipulating procedures for importing cars for ineligible individuals through forgery and facilitating embezzlement of public funds in exchange for bribes. The Administrative Control Authority continues its vital role in combating corruption in all its forms, as the entity responsible for protecting public funds and ensuring the integrity of government institutions, by taking decisive actions against anyone proven to be involved in any violations affecting the national economy or citizens' rights.
