The Syrian presidency announced today, Tuesday, the appointment of Mukhlis Al-Nazir as the first deputy governor of the Central Bank of Syria, in a move that reflects the government's direction towards enhancing efficiency and expertise in managing monetary policy.
Who is Mukhlis Al-Nazir?
Mukhlis Al-Nazir is a writer and researcher in economic affairs and international relations, with extensive experience in financial consulting, asset management, and academic teaching.
He currently holds the position of economic advisor at the Central Bank of Syria since February 2025, where he was selected as part of a group of experts tasked with formulating and implementing the bank's monetary policy. He also works as a financial advisor and asset manager at "Rafah" since December 2024, and as an assistant professor at the Management and Science University (MSU) since August 2024.
