Charred.. The remains of more than 20 unidentified bodies were recovered in "Sbeineh" in the countryside of Damascus.

The search teams of the Syrian Civil Defense recovered on Monday, February 24, the remains of more than 20 bodies, according to initial data, unidentified and not properly buried, from a basement of a residential building in the town of Sbeineh in the countryside of Damascus.
According to the official page of the "Syrian Civil Defense" on its official "Facebook" page, a report was received from civilians and activists about the presence of human bone remnants in the basement of a residential building in the Associations area in the town of Sbeineh in the countryside of Damascus.
The Civil Defense stated that "the search teams of the Syrian Civil Defense responded to the report, and the location is a basement in a residential building within a residential neighborhood, where human remains were found at the site reported by the locals. According to their testimonies, these remains date back to the end of 2013 when the Assad regime and its loyal militias stormed the town."
According to the locals, as per the Civil Defense, "they confirmed that these families were hiding in basements out of fear of being killed by the Assad regime, and contact was lost with them since that time."
The remains were recovered, all of which were exposed and at risk of disappearing. According to initial data, the remains belong to more than 20 unidentified victims, and it is difficult to determine the number of victims due to the intentional burning of the bodies, with only charred bone fragments remaining.
According to initial data and site inspection, as mentioned by the Civil Defense, the bodies were subjected to deliberate burning in an attempt to conceal the crime, and the burning process was carried out using car tires.
The remains were handed over to the forensic medicine (identification center), and all procedures were carried out in accordance with the protocols for documenting, collecting, and recovering the remains.
