European Union: Urges all parties to immediately implement the ceasefire agreement in Sweida

The European Union expressed its deep concern today, Wednesday, over the continued clashes in Sweida and the resulting casualties.

The European Union strongly condemned the acts of violence against civilians in Sweida, and urged all parties to immediately implement the ceasefire agreement that was reached.

The Union said in a statement: "Civilians must be protected without discrimination, and hate speech and sectarian rhetoric must be stopped", and added: "The Syrian authorities are responsible for calming the situation, restoring peace, and ensuring accountability".

The Union further stated: "In light of Israel escalating its airstrikes, we urge all relevant external parties to respect Syria's sovereignty and territorial integrity".
