The American scene has witnessed a dangerous escalation since the protests began in Los Angeles for the fourth consecutive day. President Donald Trump has dealt with the protests firmly, which protesters see as a threat and a violation of freedoms and democracies in the United States. Trump not only deployed National Guard troops in the rebellious city but also made the situation more complicated.

As part of a broader support plan led by federal authorities to deal with the situation on the ground amid widespread protests, the US Northern Command announced the mobilization of over 700 US Marines stationed at the Air and Ground Combat Center in California to participate in handling the protests.

The Marines belong to the 2nd Battalion, 7th Marine Regiment, part of the 1st Marine Division.

These soldiers join thousands of National Guard troops activated by President Donald Trump over the weekend without the approval of the Governor of California or the Mayor of Los Angeles.
