Erdogan to Macron: International Community Must Act Immediately to End the Suffering of Palestinians

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan made a phone call today, Sunday, to his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron, discussing the developments in Gaza and the regional scene.
President Erdogan emphasized during the call the serious deterioration of the humanitarian situation in Gaza, stressing the urgent need for the international community to take immediate action to find a solution that ends the ongoing suffering of the Palestinians.
President Erdogan also emphasized the need to end the conflict between Israel and Palestine, stating that a two-state solution is the way to achieve lasting peace in the region.
He congratulated Macron on France's decision to recognize the state of Palestine, considering the step important in supporting the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people.
Last Thursday, French President Emmanuel Macron announced that his country will recognize the state of Palestine during the United Nations General Assembly meeting in New York scheduled for September. Macron said, through the X platform: "In fulfillment of its historical commitment to a just and lasting peace in the Middle East, I have decided that France will recognize the state of Palestine." 149 out of 193 UN member states recognize the state of Palestine.
