Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has emphasized that the stage Syria has reached after years of popular struggle is considered a glimmer of hope for the entire region, stressing the importance of international support and strengthening relations with the new Syrian administration during this sensitive period.
This came in a speech delivered by Erdogan yesterday at the 17th summit of the Economic Cooperation Organization held in the city of Khankendi in Azerbaijan, where he affirmed that the continuation of financial support and international cooperation with Syria is vital to maintaining stability and promoting development.
Erdogan also pointed out that Israel's aggressive policies, its ongoing war on the Gaza Strip, in addition to its attacks on Syria and Lebanon, pose a serious threat to peace and stability in the region.
He called for unified international efforts to stop these atrocities and protect civilians in Gaza.
