Engineer Amer Namess Al-Ali has been appointed as the head of the Central Authority for Monitoring and Inspection in Syria.

The head of the Syrian Transitional Government, Ahmed Al-Shar'a, issued a decision appointing the engineer and academic Amer Namess Al-Ali as the head of the Central Authority for Inspection and Oversight in the Syrian government, in a move aimed at enhancing the role of revolutionary competencies with administrative and scientific expertise in vital government positions.

Al-Ali hails from the city of Al-Shheil in Deir ez-Zor Governorate, where he was born in 1985, and is considered part of the first generation of engineers who joined the Syrian revolution. He graduated with a degree in mechanical engineering from Aleppo University in 2009, then defected from the former Syrian regime army during his mandatory service at the beginning of 2012 to join the revolutionary work.

Al-Ali's name emerged during the early years of the revolution through his active field participation, before transitioning to institutional work where he assumed the position of general administrator of Idlib city, and significantly contributed to building the administrative structures of the Syrian Rescue Government.

Al-Ali excelled in continuing his academic career development, obtaining a specialized diploma in management and accounting from Idlib University in 2021, then completing the preparatory year for a master's degree in mechatronics in 2022, subsequently earning a master's degree in business administration from the same university in 2024. He is now preparing for a Ph.D. in business administration at the National Institute of Public Administration in Damascus.

The Central Authority for Inspection and Oversight is one of the most important supervisory bodies in Syria, specializing in monitoring the financial and administrative performance of various government institutions, ensuring proper implementation of laws and regulations, promoting principles of integrity and transparency, and combating corruption through periodic reports on the performance of government institutions.
