In a phone call.. The Egyptian Foreign Minister discusses developments in Gaza with Weitkov

The Egyptian Foreign Minister Dr. Badr Abdel Aty conducted a phone call today, Wednesday, with the U.S. Special Envoy for the Middle East, Steve Weitkov, as part of their regular communications to address regional developments, particularly the situation in the Gaza Strip and the developments regarding the Iranian nuclear file.

Ambassador Tamim Khalaf, the official spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, stated that Minister Abdel Aty reviewed during the call the latest updates on the ceasefire negotiations in Gaza, especially after the approval of Hamas on the proposal previously presented by the U.S. envoy, emphasizing the critical importance of Israel's response to the proposal and the implementation of its elements to address the current crisis.

The Foreign Minister also stressed the necessity of seizing the current opportunity with Hamas's approval of the U.S. proposal to take action to put an end to this unjust war, which has lasted for nearly two years, and to utilize the proposed 60-day ceasefire period to negotiate an end to the war and establish the foundations for a just settlement of the Palestinian issue.
