Due to its "bias against Israel" .. America intends to withdraw from UNESCO

The United States announced today, Tuesday, its intention to withdraw again from the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), due to what Washington considers "bias against Israel", just two years after returning to the organization.
America informed UNESCO Director-General Audrey Azoulay today of its decision to withdraw from the organization, explaining that continued participation in UNESCO is not in the national interest of the United States.

White House Deputy Spokesperson Anna Kelly stated that President Donald Trump has decided to withdraw the United States from UNESCO because the organization supports initiatives that do not align with American interests.
Kelly told the New York Post: "President Trump has decided to withdraw the United States from UNESCO, which supports cultural and social initiatives that contradict cultural and social initiatives and are completely contrary to the sensible policy that Americans voted for in November".

Kelly added that the Trump administration closely monitors "to ensure that the country's membership in all international organizations aligns with the national interests" of the United States.
Additionally, Kelly confirmed that UNESCO used its executive board to promote "agendas hostile to Israel and Jews", including "listing Jewish holy sites in the Palestinian World Heritage List", and "condemning Israel's war on Hamas".

Kelly also accused the organization of being "pro-China". According to her, UNESCO's Deputy Director-General is a Chinese national, Xing Qu, which means that "China has used its influence in UNESCO to promote global standards that serve Beijing's interests".

Under Article II (6) of the UNESCO Constitution, the withdrawal of the United States will take effect on December 31, 2026, and the United States will remain a full member of UNESCO until that time.
