Doha calls for restoring Syria's rights as a full party in the Chemical Weapons Convention

Qatar has called for the restoration of Syria's rights and privileges as a full party in the Chemical Weapons Convention, emphasizing the importance of halting Israeli attacks on Syrian territories.
This came in a speech by Qatar's Ambassador to the Kingdom of the Netherlands and its Permanent Representative to the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons, Ali bin Majeed Al-Kaabi, during the 109th session of the Executive Council of the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons held in The Hague.
Al-Kaabi also condemned the repeated targeting by Israel of sites inside Syrian territories, considering these attacks as obstructing the organization's missions and endangering the lives of its experts, especially amidst the ongoing Syrian efforts in cooperation with the organization's Technical Secretariat to identify sites containing chemical materials and develop plans for their destruction.
Al-Kaabi praised the recent positive progress in the cooperation between Syria and the Technical Secretariat of the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons, commending the vital role played by the organization in this context, and the support provided by Qatar to enhance this cooperation.
The Qatari Ambassador called on the Executive Council of the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons to "positively engage with this new reality and take necessary steps to restore Syria's rights and privileges as a full party in the organization".
