Discussions between Syria and Turkey in the Field of Education Sector

During the meeting, Minister Turkoo emphasized the importance of developing cooperation between the two countries in various educational fields, pointing out that Syria and Turkey have distinguished historical relations, and that cooperation in the education sector is one of the fundamental pillars for rebuilding Syria and achieving economic development.
The Minister noted that the ministry has developed an emergency response plan and a comprehensive strategy for a future vision that includes key elements of the educational process, such as renovating and equipping schools as a top priority to ensure facilitating the availability of a suitable educational environment for every Syrian child, and facilitating the return of Syrian refugee students from Turkey and integrating them into the Syrian educational system, including certifying their certificates and teaching the Arabic language to reintegrate them into society.
He stressed the importance of benefiting from Turkey's leading experience in vocational and technical education as a fundamental means for reconstruction and enhancing economic development in Syria, as well as studying and developing previous agreements in cooperation with the Turkish side, and providing all necessary facilitations to establish Turkish international schools in Syria.
In turn, the Turkish delegation emphasized the importance of enhancing cooperation between the two countries, developing friendship and solidarity between the two peoples, emphasizing the importance of forming a joint committee to follow up on developing partnerships and cooperation, in addition to organizing cooperation agreements and opening schools in the cities of Damascus, Aleppo, and Latakia, indicating that they have sent a delegation for field visits and have renovated a number of schools in Syria.
