'Deliberate Misinformation'.. Ankara Denies Exporting Goods to Israel

The Turkish Presidency has denied the accuracy of reports claiming that Ankara exported goods to Israel worth $393.7 million during the first five months of the current year.
A statement issued by the Anti-Disinformation Center, affiliated with the Communications Directorate of the Turkish Presidency, stated: "The claim that Turkey exported goods to Israel worth $393.7 million during the first five months of the year, which has been circulated in some media outlets and social media platforms, is completely false and represents deliberate misinformation".
The statement added: "This intentional distortion is nothing more than an attempt to manipulate public opinion and undermine the credibility of official state institutions".
The statement pointed out that, based on the decision issued on May 2, 2024, all commercial operations related to exports, imports, and commercial transit with Israel have been suspended, without exception for any group of goods, whether at customs ports or free zones.
The Center confirmed that "since that date, no customs declaration related to exports or imports from Turkey to Israel or vice versa has been recorded, and no shipment from Israel has reached our country".
On the other hand, the statement highlighted the continuation of the existing trade mechanism between Turkey and Palestine, according to the governmental protocol signed between the Turkish Ministry of Trade and the Palestinian Ministry of National Economy, with the aim of meeting the vital needs of the State of Palestine.
It explained that the volume of Turkish exports to Palestine amounted to $797 million last year.
The statement concluded by affirming that this trade with the Palestinians is conducted through ports under Israeli control, which some parties exploit to launch false allegations that Turkey exports goods to Israel, based on "alleged data" from the Israeli side, in order to tarnish the institutions of the Turkish state and mislead public opinion.
