Deir ez-Zor: Arrest of members of the dissolved National Defense militias in a wide security campaign.

In this context, elements of the General Security affiliated with the Temporary Syrian Government managed to arrest the individual known as "Al-Sabii" and another member of the so-called "National Defense" militias, based on information implicating them in criminal activities during the previous regime.

According to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, the General Security forces launched a wide-scale security operation on Tuesday, 11/02/2025, in the city of Al-Bukamal and its countryside east of Deir ez-Zor, targeting over 40 individuals on charges of drug trafficking and carrying weapons in public places. The campaign included the arrest of former members of Brigade 47 and the National Defense, and the security operation is ongoing at the moment.
