US Tests Mine-Hunting Drones

The American company Raytheon has announced that it has conducted tests on drones designed to combat naval mines.
The company stated that it tested its drones in the waters of Narragansett Bay, and that experts in the US Navy indicated that these drones have shown unprecedented results in detecting and classifying various types of naval mines.
US Army Admiral Michael Harper, who attended the trials, said: "We are witnessing a qualitative leap in mine defense technology. The Barracuda submarine system demonstrates three times the effectiveness of current systems like the AN/SLQ-48".
