The former Moroccan Foreign Minister, Mohamed Ben Issa, has passed away.

Former Moroccan Foreign Minister, Mohamed Ben Issa, passed away yesterday, Friday, February 28, 2025, at the age of 88.
Ben Issa, a current member of the Moroccan House of Councillors, had been absent from the public scene for months due to deteriorating health before succumbing to illness.
Mohamed Ben Issa served as the Minister of Culture of Morocco from 1985 to 1992, then as the Moroccan Ambassador to the United States from 1992 to 1999.
He returned to the Moroccan government in 1999 as the Minister of Foreign Affairs, a position he held for 8 years until 2007, during which he dealt with several important issues.
Ben Issa began his political career as a media attaché at the Moroccan Permanent Mission to the United Nations, and held various positions before returning to Morocco in 1976. He then became the editor-in-chief of a newspaper while running for parliament representing his hometown of Asilah.
