Damascus hosts the "Tech Renaissance" conference and launches the "Hudhud" platform to support the digital economy.

The "Tech Renaissance" conference kicked off in the Syrian capital, Damascus, the most prominent technical event of its kind in the country, with the presence of the Minister of Communications and Technology, Engineer Abdulsalam Hekal, alongside a group of experts and enthusiasts in entrepreneurship and modern technologies.
The conference witnessed the announcement of the "Hudhud" platform, the first Syrian digital platform dedicated to exporting local products to global markets, in a step aimed at "supporting the national economy and enhancing the digital access opportunities for Syrian products on a global level," according to the ministry's statement.
In a related context, the first Syrian Artificial Intelligence Conference, previously held at the Sheraton Hotel in Damascus, featured the operation of the first tower using fifth-generation (5G) technology, where Minister Hekal was seen testing the internet speed through the new technology during the conference. The conference brought together experts and innovators in the field of artificial intelligence to showcase the latest local and regional developments.
The Ministry of Communications confirmed that the fifth-generation experience is part of a broader plan to "achieve a qualitative leap in the digital infrastructure," pointing out "tangible development indicators during the first quarter of the current year."
On the sidelines of the events, Minister Hekal visited the Syrian Post Institution and discussed with its officials ways to "improve the quality of postal services and enhance their efficiency to meet the needs of citizens," in addition to comprehensive development plans and strengthening cooperation with other government entities.
It is worth mentioning that the "Tech Renaissance" conference and the Artificial Intelligence conference come within the framework of efforts to enhance innovation and digital transformation, and open up new horizons for national industries in international markets.
