The Damascus-Homs international road is difficult to pass due to the weather conditions.

The Syrian Civil Defense announced this morning, Sunday, February 23, that the Damascus-Homs international road is very difficult to pass through in the Hassia area in southern rural Homs, due to snow and ice formation.
The Syrian Civil Defense warned in a post on its Telegram channel: "We warn of sliding accidents on the road, urge drivers to reduce speed, ensure vehicle readiness, maintain a safe distance, and postpone travel until the road is easily passable."
Several cars slid off the road on the Damascus-Beirut highway on the evening of Saturday, February 22, due to icy layers on the road.
In the same context, based on the authorization of the Director of Education in Tartous Governorate for educational supervisors in school complexes to suspend classes in some schools, and in the interest of public safety and students' well-being during the frost wave in the governorate, schools in the cities and countryside of Sheikh Badr, Ad Duraykish, and Al-Qadmus are suspended today, Sunday. The complex supervisor will send a message with the names of schools where classes are suspended, subject to extension based on weather reports.
The Civil Defense confirmed that its teams are spreading salt, responding to sliding accidents, and providing assistance, indicating that emergency assistance can be requested by contacting the Damascus and its countryside emergency number via WhatsApp: +90 531 633 80 40/02
