Closure of a U.S. Army base in Georgia following injuries in a shooting incident

The base stated in a Facebook post: "The lockdown was imposed on the facility at 11:04 AM, and law enforcement is on site," adding that the incident occurred in the area of the "2nd Armored Brigade Combat Team," and injuries have been reported.
No additional information is currently available, including the number of injuries or their severity.
A spokesperson for the Liberty County Sheriff's Office explained that the agency is participating in the response to the incident inside the base, but referred all questions to the U.S. Army.
He added: "We hold in our hearts the victims of this incident and their families, and all who answer the call of service, and we ask all Georgia residents to do the same."
It is noted that "Fort Stewart" is located about 225 miles or approximately 362 kilometers southeast of Atlanta, and 40 miles or about 64 kilometers southwest of Savannah.
