Clashes between Thailand and Cambodia amidst mutual accusations between the two neighbors

This fighting represents an escalation of a conflict between the two neighbors located in Southeast Asia, dating back over a century.
The Thai army said that most of the victims were civilians from three Thai provinces, indicating that there were also a number of injuries. Cambodia has not yet confirmed whether it has suffered any human losses.
Both sides exchanged gunfire early on Thursday, with each accusing the other of igniting the conflict. The situation escalated rapidly, with Thailand accusing Cambodia of launching rockets, while Bangkok carried out air strikes on Cambodian military targets.
Thailand closed its border with Cambodia, while the latter reduced its relations with Thailand, accusing its army of using "excessive force".
Both countries have asked their citizens near the border to leave those areas, with Thailand evacuating 40,000 civilians to safer places.
