In a new Russian airstrike targeting the Ukrainian capital Kyiv, at least 8 people were injured, including a three-year-old child.
The authorities in Kyiv confirmed that four of the injured were taken to the hospital, including one in critical condition, as announced by Timur Taktashenko, head of the military administration via Telegram.
Vitali Klitschko, the mayor of Kyiv, pointed out that all the injured were residents of a multi-story building in the Darnytskyi district on the left bank of the Dnieper River, adding that the blast wave shattered windows from the sixth to the eleventh floor of the building.
The capital witnessed sirens blaring throughout the night, warning of Russian missile and drone attacks that targeted most parts of Ukraine.
In a field development, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced that air defense systems destroyed 7 Ukrainian drones during the past night in the airspace of four Russian regions, namely Rostov (4 drones), Oryol, Kaluga, and Bryansk (one drone in each region).
This escalation comes amid ongoing tensions and the war between Russia and Ukraine, amidst increasing international warnings of the conflict's repercussions on regional and international security.
