The Syrian Civil Defense retrieved today, Saturday, the remains of 4 individuals from a mass grave inside Brigade 34, which was affiliated with the defunct regime, in the village of Al-Masmiyah in the Al-Lajat area north of Daraa province.

"SANA" quoted local sources as saying that the bodies appeared above the ground, prompting the specialized teams from the Civil Defense to intervene and retrieve them.

In February, the Civil Defense had retrieved the remains of several individuals from the same site.

Information from the area indicates the presence of dozens of other bodies buried for years, believed to belong to civilians who were field-executed by the forces of the defunct regime and buried in mass graves within the Brigade's vicinity.

This comes as part of ongoing operations carried out by specialized teams and committees at the same site, amidst efforts to complete procedures to retrieve the remaining bodies at a later time.

The Al-Lajat area is one of the prominent areas that witnessed fierce clashes between the rebels and the forces of the defunct regime in the past years, where the latter committed horrific violations against civilians, including field executions and mass burial operations.
