China unveils the fourth generation tank ZTZ-201 in a military parade rehearsal in Beijing

China is preparing to showcase its latest military achievements during the military parade rehearsal scheduled for September 3 in Beijing, marking the 80th anniversary of Japan's defeat. The capital is expected to witness the full unveiling of the fourth generation tank ZTZ-201 for the first time.
The tank had previously appeared during military maneuvers since the beginning of 2023, but leaked images only showed the lower hull, wheels, and covered turret, concealing the complete design of the unmanned automatic cannon.
The design of the ZTZ-201 features a fortified combat capsule within the hull, accommodating a crew of three (driver, commander, and gunner), in addition to an unmanned automatic turret, enhancing crew protection and reducing the tank's radar signature.
This tank is described as being on par with modern developments such as the Russian T-14 (Armata) and the South Korean KF-51 (Panther), with expectations that the military parade will highlight its capabilities in fire control, active defense, and stealth systems.
