China denied today, Tuesday, that its scientific and technological achievements are the result of "intellectual property theft," following comments by the Dutch Defense Minister accusing Beijing of intensifying espionage activities, especially in semiconductor industries. According to Reuters, the Chinese Foreign Ministry strongly opposes attempts to "tarnish" its reputation using accusations of "espionage" and "cyber attacks," urging all parties to look at China objectively and fairly. The Dutch military intelligence agency stated last year that Chinese spies targeted Dutch semiconductor industries, aviation, and maritime industries. Dutch Defense Minister Rob Bauer said at a forum on Saturday that these attacks have intensified.
