Changes in the UAE Government and Adoption of the National Artificial Intelligence System

Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, announced today, Friday, changes in the UAE government and the adoption of the National Artificial Intelligence System as a consultative member in the Cabinet, Ministerial Development Council, and the boards of federal entities and all government companies starting from January 2026.
Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum stated in a post on his "X" platform account: "Brothers and sisters... After consulting with my brother, the President of the country, may God protect him and endorse him, we announce today some changes in the government of the UAE as follows. Establishing a Ministry of Foreign Trade in the UAE government, appointing Dr. Thani Al Zeyoudi as Minister of Foreign Trade, and changing the name of the Ministry of Economy to be the Ministry of Economy and Tourism led by Abdullah bin Touq Al Marri".
He added: "We also announce that the National Artificial Intelligence System will be adopted as a consultative member in the Cabinet, Ministerial Development Council, and the boards of federal entities and all government companies, starting from January 2026, with the aim of supporting decision-making in these councils, conducting immediate analyses of their decisions, providing technical advice, and enhancing the efficiency of government policies adopted by these councils in all sectors".
He continued: "The world is undergoing a comprehensive restructuring scientifically, economically, and socially, and our goal is to prepare from today for the coming decades, ensuring the continuation of prosperity and a decent life for future generations".
