Dubai Police announced yesterday, Wednesday, the arrest of a gang consisting of 15 individuals involved in promoting sweets containing "drug flavor" through social media platforms.
This came during a meticulous monitoring carried out by the General Directorate of Anti-Narcotics, as revealed by Major General Abdul Rahman Al-Muhairi, Director of the International Protection Center at Dubai Police, during a press conference held as part of the drug awareness exhibition at Festival City.
Al-Muhairi emphasized that this qualitative operation is a new achievement added to Dubai Police's record in combating crime, stressing the importance of preventive and awareness roles in society.
He urged the public to be cautious when buying sweets online, especially since some products may contain drugs allowed in other countries but prohibited in the UAE, in order to preserve the health and safety of the community.
This step comes as part of Dubai Police's relentless efforts to combat drugs, reduce their spread in society, and ensure a safe environment for everyone.
