The Metropolitan Police of London stated that they arrested more than 50 people today, Saturday, during their participation in a demonstration in front of Parliament protesting Britain's decision to ban the Palestine Action movement.
In a post on "X", the police said that their forces carried out the arrests after crowds gathered waving signs expressing their support for the movement in Parliament Square.
It is noteworthy that the British House of Commons decided in July to ban the Palestine Action movement under anti-terrorism legislation after some members of the movement stormed a Royal Air Force base and caused damage to aircraft in protest against Britain's support for Israel.
Under the ban, membership in this movement is a crime punishable by law with a maximum prison sentence of 14 years.
Last week, the High Court in London issued a ruling allowing activist Huda Amouri, co-founder of the Palestine Action movement, the right to appeal the British government's decision to ban the movement.
