Brazil Intends to Join South Africa's Complaint Against Israel for 'Genocide' in Gaza

In the face of the genocide and severe starvation practiced by Israel against the people of Gaza, Brazil has announced its intention to join the complaint filed by South Africa before the International Court of Justice, accusing Israel of committing 'genocide' in the Gaza Strip.
The Brazilian Foreign Ministry stated that it is 'in the final stages of submitting an official request' to join the lawsuit initiated by South Africa before the International Court of Justice, the highest judicial body in the United Nations based in The Hague.
Other countries such as Bolivia, Colombia, Libya, Spain, and Mexico have also joined the complaint.
Israel criticized the complaint, denying committing genocide in the Gaza Strip.
In decisions issued in January, March, and May 2024, the International Court of Justice called on Israel to 'do everything possible' to 'prevent' acts of genocide during its military operations in the Gaza Strip, including providing urgent humanitarian aid to avoid famine.
