Iranian officials' statements continue to alternate between condemnation and threats against Israel following the unprecedented attacks on Iranian sites. Iranian President Masoud Bazshkian today, Friday (June 13, 2025), threatened, saying, "The brutal aggression carried out by the Zionist entity this morning on Tehran and several Iranian cities, resulting in the deaths of children, women, innocent citizens, as well as military leaders and nuclear scientists, once again reveals the criminal nature of this entity built on occupation, aggression, and killing of innocents." Bazshkian added in an official statement from his media office, "This attack has proven the Islamic Republic's long-standing assertion that crime and aggression are integral parts of the Zionist occupation entity." The President emphasized that the Islamic Republic of Iran will not remain silent in the face of this crime, stressing that "a legitimate and strong response will make the enemy regret its foolish act." He continued, "As our late Imam said, if a leader's flag falls, there will always be someone to pick it up and continue the path," affirming that Iran, despite its commitment to peace and dialogue, will "firmly defend its sovereignty and territorial integrity." The Iranian President called on the people to show unity and solidarity, ignore the rumors spread by the enemy in its psychological warfare, and noted that the government will continue its duties without interruption, and the country's public life will not be affected. He concluded by saying, "Today, more than ever, Iran needs the spirit of unity and mutual trust. With the help of God and under the leadership of the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, we will overcome this difficult challenge with dignity and honor, and we will deliver a harsh and wise response to the occupying enemy that serves as a lesson to all aggressors."
