Bloody Attack in New York .. 4 Killed Inside Manhattan Skyscraper

A tragic incident occurred in downtown Manhattan, where a gunman opened fire inside a skyscraper located at 345 Park Avenue, resulting in the death of four individuals, including a 36-year-old New York Police Department officer who then committed suicide by shooting himself in the chest, authorities announced yesterday.

New York Police Commissioner Jessica Tish stated that the attacker, a resident of Las Vegas, had driven his car to New York in the days leading up to the attack.

Investigators believe the man acted alone, while his motives remain unknown at this time.

The suspect has been identified as Shin Tamura from Nevada, according to two sources familiar with the investigation cited by the Associated Press.

Authorities also found on him an ID card and a gun permit issued in Las Vegas.

The skyscraper where the incident took place houses offices of several major financial institutions, including Blackstone and KPMG, as well as the headquarters of the American football league.

Meanwhile, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) confirmed the presence of field agents in New York to provide support at the scene, while authorities continue their investigation to understand the circumstances of the incident and attempt to uncover the true motives behind it.
