Beirut Rafic Hariri International Airport closed in protest of not allowing an Iranian plane to land.

Protesters deliberately blocked the road to Rafic Hariri International Airport on Thursday evening in objection to the refusal to allow an Iranian plane carrying Lebanese passengers to land at the airport. Sources reported that the protesters set fire to tires, blocking the road to Beirut Airport, amid widespread anger. Videos circulated on social media showing Lebanese stranded at Tehran Airport after Beirut Airport revoked permission for the Iranian plane to land. Both airports faced several issues, sparking widespread anger among the Lebanese and calls for urgent official action. This comes just hours after the Israeli army accused the Iranian "Quds" Force and Hezbollah of using Beirut International Airport to smuggle money and weapons on civilian flights. Israeli army spokesperson Avichay Adraee claimed in a statement that there are attempts to smuggle weapons for Hezbollah and Israel will not allow it.
