Barzani and Al-Shar'a emphasize the importance of cooperation to combat terrorism and find a comprehensive political solution in Syria.

The President of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, Nechirvan Barzani, met with Syrian President Ahmed Al-Sharaa and Foreign Minister Asaad Al-Shibani on the sidelines of their participation in the Antalya Diplomatic Forum on Friday, April 11.
The two sides discussed ways to enhance security coordination in countering "ISIS," as well as the pursuit of a comprehensive political solution that preserves the rights of all Syrian components, including Kurdish rights, as a necessary path to achieve stability in Syria and the region.
Barzani expressed his appreciation for the vision presented by President Al-Sharaa during the meeting, stating: "I listened to his vision for the future of Syria, and praised his inclusive approach that considers the rights of all Syrians," noting that the discussions focused on "our joint commitment to eliminating the threat of ISIS, and I welcomed his serious commitment to seeking lasting peace in the region."
The Kurdistan Region Presidency, in a press statement, mentioned that the meeting addressed the prospects of trilateral relations between Syria, Iraq, and the region, emphasizing the principles of good neighborliness, deepening common interests, and continuing security cooperation to combat terrorism.
Al-Sharaa also discussed his vision for rebuilding Syria on national foundations that ensure constitutional equality for all its citizens.
In turn, Barzani praised this vision, affirming that a just solution that vindicates all Syrian components, foremost among them the Kurds, is the only guarantee for Syria's stability.
Barzani reiterated the region's support for the unity and sovereignty of Syrian territories, considering its stability a decisive factor for the stability of the neighborhood.
It is worth noting that this meeting concluded a series of meetings for the Syrian delegation at the forum, where the meeting with Barzani received special attention to discuss security and mutual cooperation issues.
