Barak: The Syrian government will harness all its resources to hold accountable those responsible for the atrocities in Sweida

U.S. Special Envoy to Syria Thomas Barak said today, Tuesday, that Syria is committed to a unified process that respects and protects all its components, despite interventions that seek to disrupt it.

In a post on the "X" platform, Barak added: "Achieving justice and ending impunity are essential for achieving lasting peace."

Barak noted that the Syrian government "will harness all its resources to hold accountable those responsible for the atrocities in Sweida."

He confirmed that Syria will fully cooperate with the United Nations to investigate crimes, including the events at the National Hospital in Sweida.

Barak added: "Humanitarian care and inclusivity are the way to confront the forces seeking to divide the Syrian society."
