Bran: Lebanon's Ban on Al-Qard Al-Hasan Organization, Affiliated with Hezbollah, Is a Step in the Right Direction

American envoy Tom Bran described Lebanon's ban on companies dealing with the "Al-Qard Al-Hasan" organization affiliated with Hezbollah as a "significant achievement" and a step in the right direction by the Lebanese government in controlling the flow of Hezbollah's funds passing through that institution.

In a tweet on "Twitter", he said: "Enhancing transparency and subjecting all financial intermediaries in Lebanon to the supervision of the Central Bank of Lebanon is an important and necessary achievement".


Bran considered that the fear of disarming Hezbollah and the government's prevention of this matter could lead to a civil war.
