Baniyas Refinery Launches Strategic Project to Modernize Its Equipment and Improve the Quality of Oil Products

In a special statement to the "SANA" agency, the general manager of the refinery, Ibrahim Muslim, explained that the new equipment will be used to replace the bodies of the four reactors in the upgrading unit, and the furnace tubes, by installing a unified body that includes the reactors collectively, in addition to supplying internal components for the reactors and steam generators.
- Replacement of equipment dating back to 1980.
- Preparation of alternative components for the upcoming comprehensive maintenance.
- Ensuring the production of high-octane gasoline from naphtha.
Jwad Abdul Latif, Director of Studies and Projects and Head of the Supervisory Committee, confirmed that the project will ensure the continuity of gasoline production according to market needs and prevent work stoppages due to potential failures in old equipment.
Adnan Hamza, Director of Technical Affairs, also noted that this step is being implemented for the first time in the refinery's history, reflecting the importance of the project in maintaining the facility's readiness to secure oil products locally.
The Ministry of Energy announced that the project represents a qualitative leap in the refinery's history and enhances Syria's ability to produce high-quality fuel with advanced operational efficiency.
