Syrian businessman Ayman Asfari denied the rumors circulated by some media outlets about his assignment to form the new Syrian government, confirming that he was not asked to do so and did not pursue it in any way.
In an official statement, Asfari expressed his full support for the upcoming government, wishing it success in carrying out the tasks entrusted to it during this critical phase in Syria. The statement read: "The current circumstances in our country require the formation of a transitional government based on competence and fair representation, reflecting the aspirations of all spectrums of the Syrian people without bias or sectarianism on military or other bases."
He added: "This government must be effective and have real powers, capable of facing the serious challenges facing Syria, and achieving the aspirations of our great people, in a manner befitting their immense sacrifices."
He concluded his statement by saying: "I will be among the first supporters of any government formed according to these criteria, and I will work to support it in achieving the desired goals in this pivotal stage. Happy Ramadan to all, may God bless you with well-being and blessings."
