In a tragic incident that shook India and the world, an Air India Boeing 787 Dreamliner crashed shortly after takeoff from Ahmedabad en route to London, resulting in the death of 279 people, including 241 passengers and crew members, as well as 29 victims on the ground, with only one passenger surviving the crash. Prominent analysts, including pilot and well-known YouTube blogger Steve, have put forward an intriguing theory about the cause of the accident. Steve believes that the crash was due to a simple error in the cockpit, where the co-pilot, when asked to retract the landing gear, mistakenly pulled the "flap lever" instead of the landing gear, causing the flaps to lift, doubling the aircraft's speed and causing it to lose altitude rapidly, making it impossible to control the plane. Steve explained that the wings of the 787 aircraft usually bend during takeoff due to lift forces, but in this flight, this bending was not observed, supporting the hypothesis of accidentally raising the flaps. He considered this simple error sufficient for the disaster to occur. On the other hand, the Indian Civil Aviation Ministry issued a statement emphasizing the importance of forming a high-level, multi-disciplinary committee to investigate the accident, stressing that this committee will make recommendations and preventive measures to avoid such incidents in the future, without replacing the ongoing official investigations. While the investigation team continues its work, the flight data recorder (black box) was found on the roof of a building near the accident site, expected to reveal detailed information about engine settings and aircraft control, as well as voice recordings from the cockpit that may help understand the circumstances of the accident. Aviation safety experts confirmed that analyzing this data may answer key questions in the coming days. The incident, which occurred in a residential area in Ahmedabad, continues to be searched by the rescue and search team for the third consecutive day in one of the worst aviation disasters in India's history.
