An official source in the Ministry of Interior affiliated with the Syrian government reported on Monday, May 12, that the security authorities have arrested three senior pilot officers who served during the era of the former regime, in a qualitative operation carried out in the countryside of Damascus.

Among the detainees, the name of Brigadier General Fayez Hussein Ibrahim stands out, who previously held the position of commander of the Dumair military airport, in addition to being a pilot in the former regime's forces and a member of the central committee of the Damascus countryside branch representing the dissolved "Arab Socialist Ba'ath Party." The list also included Brigadier General Khaled Mohammed Ali and Brigadier General Abdel Jabbar Mohammed Halabiya.

Throughout his military career, Brigadier General Ibrahim held sensitive positions in the former regime's air force, facing accusations related to war crimes and human rights violations, especially given the role this force played in "suppression" operations in recent years.

This operation is part of a comprehensive security campaign aimed at eliminating remnants of the "former regime," with the Ministry of Interior, in cooperation with the Ministry of Defense, confirming that these measures are part of governmental efforts to dismantle the structures of the former regime and pursue those involved in crimes against civilians, seeking justice and restoring stability.
