Armed attack targets police station in Sistan and Baluchestan.. and the death of a police officer and 3 attackers

An Iranian police officer was killed today, Sunday, August 10, during an armed attack targeting a police station in Sistan and Baluchestan province in southeastern Iran, according to local media reports.
The Iranian news agency "Tasnim" reported that the deceased officer was from the Saravan area, while three of the attackers were killed and two others were arrested while attempting to storm the police station.
The agency indicated that the attackers belong to the "Jaish al-Adl" Baluchi group, an armed group based in Pakistan that operates in the border areas between the two countries.
Sistan and Baluchestan province, located about 1200 kilometers southeast of the capital Tehran, is a hot zone experiencing recurring security tensions due to its shared border with Pakistan and Afghanistan.
This attack comes in the context of a series of violent incidents in the region, where armed men stormed a courthouse in Zahedan, the provincial capital, on July 26, resulting in the deaths of at least 6 people, in an attack later claimed by the "Jaish al-Adl" group, according to the "AFP" agency.
The province also witnessed the killing of 10 police officers in an attack described by Iranian authorities as "terrorist" last October.
