The vicinity of Hmeimim military airport witnessed a sudden attack this morning by an armed group on the Russian base, resulting in intense clashes involving the use of firearms between the attackers and the base's defenders.

The clashes led to the disruption of exams in several villages surrounding the airport. Additionally, the electronic interference carried out by the Russian base caused communication services in the area to be disrupted, increasing anxiety among the residents.

In response to the attack, Russian helicopters conducted intensive aerial patrols to secure the base perimeter and sweep the adjacent areas amid heightened security alert.
