Arab League Condemns the Bombing of St. Elias Church in Damascus and Affirms Its Support for Syria

The Secretary-General of the Arab League, Ahmed Aboul Gheit, strongly condemned the terrorist bombing that targeted St. Elias Church in the Dwelaa neighborhood of Damascus, expressing his sincere condolences to the families of the victims and the injured, and his sympathy to the Syrian government and people in this difficult moment.
This came in a statement carried by the official news agency, where the League's spokesperson, Jameel Rshidi, affirmed that Aboul Gheit warned of "the ongoing danger posed by terrorist organizations, especially ISIS", expressing his hope that "the Syrian government will be able to confront these terrorist organizations and others who target the civil peace in Syria and the region".
The Secretary-General emphasized the Arab League's full solidarity with Syria, government and people, affirming its support for efforts aimed at "preserving the rights of all Syrian people and achieving their aspirations for stability and development".
