Syrian President's brother, Maher al-Assad, appointed as the Secretary-General of the Presidency of the Republic.

According to "Al-Watan" newspaper, Dr. Maher Al-Shar'a has been appointed as the Secretary-General of the Presidency of the Republic. It is worth mentioning that the brother of the Syrian President was previously appointed as the Minister of Health in the caretaker government for a period of three months. However, his name was not included in the list of the new government announced by the Syrian Presidency on April 1st of this year.
