Ankara denies sending peacekeeping forces to Ukraine and sets a fundamental condition for any potential mission

Sources in the ministry stated that "Turkey is a country that works to establish peace and stability in its surroundings, and makes efforts to contribute to all initiatives in this direction," but emphasized at the same time that any step of this kind requires first establishing a ceasefire between Russia and Ukraine, followed by setting a clear framework for the force's missions, including its conditions and the contribution size of each country.
The sources added: "It is neither logical nor accurate to rely on speculations that have not yet been substantiated with concrete foundations regarding the participation of a Turkish peacekeeping force".
This comes as Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov confirmed Moscow's readiness to discuss settlement with Ukraine in any format, referring to a previous proposal by President Vladimir Putin to continue talks and elevate the level of delegations, which is awaiting a response from Kyiv.
