The city of Anchorage will host the anticipated meeting between Trump and Putin

The White House announced that the city of Anchorage in Alaska will be the meeting place for American President Donald Trump and his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin.
White House spokesperson, Caroline Levitt, explained that Trump will travel to Anchorage on Friday morning for the meeting, confirming that the American president seeks to end the war between Moscow and Kyiv, which erupted during Joe Biden's administration, as she described it.
She pointed out that Trump prioritizes preventing wars and establishing partnerships, considering that "there is no leader in the world more committed to preventing or ending wars" at this time.
The anticipated meeting comes amid a complex international climate, as Washington and Moscow seek to reshape their relationship in light of thorny issues including the Ukrainian crisis, security balances in Europe, and geopolitical competition with China.
