The state of national well-being in America witnesses several contradictions, where life satisfaction, electoral participation, belief in democracy are declining according to Fortune magazine. Despite America's economic superiority over 98% of high-income countries in economic output and 88% in productivity.
Several areas in the United States have deteriorated more than they have improved, according to the "State of the Nation" project, which focused on 37 metrics across 15 areas to measure well-being, including trust in government, the criminal justice system, income inequality, violence, life satisfaction, mental and social health, and labor participation.
It is worth mentioning that the United States records the highest rates of anxiety and depression, with its condition worsening in 90% of middle and high-income countries, and it leads the world in the rate of deaths from drug overdoses.
