American Diplomat: Trump Seeks Agreement to End Russian-Ukrainian War

American senior diplomat John Kelly told the 15-member council, "Both Russia and Ukraine must negotiate a ceasefire and lasting peace."
Kelly added, "It is time to reach an agreement. President Trump has made it clear that this must be done by August 8th," emphasizing that "the United States is prepared to take additional measures to secure peace."
In recent months, Russia has intensified its aerial attacks on various towns and cities in Ukraine.
On Tuesday, Trump said the United States will begin imposing tariffs and taking other actions against Russia "within 10 days starting today" unless Moscow makes progress towards ending the conflict.
Western leaders have accused Russian President Vladimir Putin of dragging his feet in U.S.-led peace efforts, in an attempt to seize more Ukrainian territory.
