Aleppo Governor Azzam Al-Ghareeb said today, Wednesday, that we held an expanded meeting with the Minister of Higher Education and university presidents to discuss vital issues in the field of higher education.
Al-Ghareeb mentioned that an agreement was reached to study the possibility of keeping the colleges of Aleppo University in the North in their current locations, in addition to transferring medical students to the College of Medicine within the city of Aleppo, ensuring a more prepared and comfortable study environment for students.
It was agreed to extend the deadline granted to private universities when needed, to meet the required standards, with the official recognition of universities that have proven their commitment to those standards, and to expand practical training programs for students in cooperation with ministries, to effectively link the academic side with the labor market.
According to the governor, an additional 10% of university seats have been allocated without deduction from grades and free of charge for students holding foreign high school certificates, supporting their return and academic journey.
